Auto Expo 2023: Maruti Suzuki launches much awaited 5-door SUV ‘Jimny’; here’s features, price, booking details
India’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki on Thursday (January 12) launched its much-awaited off-roader Jimny in India. The homegrown carmaker’s five-door Jimny, unveiled globally on the second day of the Auto Expo 2023, will go on sale by mid-2023.
The Jimny Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) will be available from Maruti Suzuki in two variations: Alpha and Zeta. This car will be sold in India through the Nexa platform. This car will compete directly with Thar. Maruti has opened booking for Jimny in India

This car will be 4×4 and will hit the roads in a power-packed style. There will be five doors, so it will be more comfortable than other cars. The Maruti Jimny will be the sleek SUV that Indian car buyers have been dreaming of for years. Along with this, it will be available in India to compete with the Thar craze.
Maruti has made a lot of changes in the design and has given a different experience to the steering wheel. It will get a 1.5 liter petrol engine which will be slightly hybrid and will generate 102 bhp power and 130Nm torque. The Jimny will get a 4-speed automatic and 5-speed manual gearbox. This car will give a different kind of experience for offroading.

Price and launch timeline
Maruti will announce pricing for the Jimny 5-door in India in May 2023. It is expected to be priced at around INR 12 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival other off-roaders such as the upcoming 5- door Mahindra Thar and 5-door Force Gurkha.
